Florida Judge: Health Care Law's Individual Mandate Unconstitutional

A judge in Florida ruled today that the 2010 health care law is unconstitutional, becoming the second federal judge in as many months to find against the law.

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson’s decision comes in the most high-profile case challenging the law, with 25 states party to the complaint.

Vinson found the law’s insurance coverage mandate violates the Constitution’s commerce clause, but ruled against state arguments that a federally directed expansion of Medicaid is coercive.
